Safety Statistics Published for 2018

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently released their fatality estimates for 2018.  They estimate that 36,750 people died in traffic crashes in 2018, down approximately 1% from 2017. The Federal Highway Administration estimates that vehicle miles traveled increased by 0.4% in 2018 resulting in a fatality rate of 1.14 fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles traveled, down from 1.16 in 2017.
