Your Input Is Needed – Traffic Signal Benchmarking Self Assessment & ITE Parking Generation and Shared Parking

Traffic Signal Benchmarking Self-Assessment Survey

The 2018 Traffic Signal Benchmarking Self Assessment is now open. This Self Assessment will be the basis for the Traffic Signal State of the Practice Report which will characterize the state of the infrastructure and the organizational practices that support the management, operation, and maintenance of the signalized intersections. The data and report that result from the survey and case studies will help to identify opportunities to improve support for traffic signal systems. This project is being led by the Institute of Transportation Engineers in collaboration with the National Operations Center of Excellence with support from the Federal Highway Administration.

A web briefing was recently recorded where you can learn more about the Self Assessment, its history, objectives, and the underlying basis for the questions.

Call for Data: ITE Parking Generation Manual and Shared Parking

ITE and the Parking Consultants Council (PCC) of the National Parking Association (NPA) are collaborating on the third edition of Shared Parking, which is sponsored by the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the Parking Generation Manual, 5th Edition for release in early 2019. As ITE and NPA embark upon this update, we invite you to submit parking demand data. ITE relies heavily on the voluntary submittal of data from the transportation community to produce this valuable reference. In collaborating with NPA to update both resources, this will ensure consistency and ease of use for practitioners.

ITE encourages electronic data submittals. Data should be submitted in spreadsheet or PDF format to Lisa Fontana Tierney at

Data for this publication are being collected continually. To ensure data are considered for inclusion in the 5th edition of

Parking Generation, please submit by June 1, 2018.
