Bruce Belmore Elected International President and Randy McCourt Elected International Vice President of ITE

Washington, DC – Bruce Belmore, P.Eng., PTOE, AVS (F) was elected as the 2019 International President of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and Randy McCourt, P.E., PTOE (F) was elected as the 2019 International Vice President. Both will take office in January of 2019.

Bruce Belmore is the Western Canada Director of Transportation Planning for WSP Group in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. He is a devoted transportation professional and has served ITE at the Section, District, and International levels, including recently completing a three-year term on the International Board of Direction. He also gives back to the engineering community as an adjunct professor at the University of Regina. His goals as ITE President focus on communication with members, collaboration with other organizations, access to technical resources, growth of our membership, and member development. Randy McCourt is a Principal with DKS Associates in Portland, Oregon, USA. His campaign promise is “To enhance the ITE member experience through networking, partnerships, and technical expertise.” Randy joined ITE in 1976 and has served at the International, District, and Section levels of ITE. His role as ITE Vice President will focus on expanding member knowledge, expertise, and technical products in emerging transportation areas of safety, technology, smarter mobility, and relationships of transportation with health and equity. “ITE was fortunate to have two outstanding candidates for International Vice President. Randy has a long history of leadership and service to ITE at the Section, District, and International levels. We welcome him to the ITE leadership team,” said Jeffrey F. Paniati, ITE Executive Director and CEO.

Vice-President candidate Jason A. Crawford, P.E. (F) ran an excellent campaign and ITE looks forward to his continued active participation in ITE within the Texas District and at the International level.

Per Constitutional Amendments passed in 2017, the election process was streamlined in 2018. The earlier election of the 2019 officers will allow them to participate in the upcoming 2018 ITE District meetings in preparation for their leadership roles in 2019.
