NEWS

A Message from Jenny Grote, Nomination Committee Chair:
The Arizona Section of ITE is soliciting Section members who have an interest in serving on the Board in the position of Section Treasurer. This is a position that rotates up through Past President and is a five year commitment. The candidates will be evaluated for eligibility, ranked by the Nominating Committee and the two highest ranked candidates will be placed on the ballot. All eligible candidates must be members of ITE International and have paid Section dues. According to the Section Bylaws, Article 5, candidate names will be announced at the March meeting, voted on by the membership and successful candidate announced at the May meeting.

If you are interested, please notify Jenny Grote (jenny.grote@phoenix.gov, 602.256.4337) and send her a resume by Friday, February 24th. Feel free to contact Jenny or any of the Section Board officers if you have any questions or would like additional information about the duties and responsibilities of being an officer.

Thank You for your continued dedication to the best Section in ITE!

A Message from Scott Kelley, Career Guidance Chair:
Each year the Arizona ITE Section sponsors a $1,000 Graduate scholarship and a $1,000 Undergraduate scholarship paper competition. The scholarship winners are presented with their checks at the ITE/IMSA Spring Conference (3/7/11). Scott is looking for 3-4 volunteers to help review and score papers for this year’s scholarship. He will provide you everything you need (i.e. papers, scoring forms, criteria, etc.) electronically (or hardcopy). All you have to do is review the papers and send back your scores.
Typically the scholarship sees around 4 submittals; however, if a large number of submittals are received, he will spread the workload so that each paper gets an equal amount of reviews and no one is overwhelmed.

Please respond via e-mail or phone to let me know that you are interested or if you have any questions.

Our report is being forwarded to ITE Headquarters for further competitive review. I wanted to thank everyone for their help in putting this together. I'll be attending the Western District conference to accept the award. Congratulations and wish us luck on the competition ahead!
